© The Bakersfield Californian November 4, 2011 Kenneth Alexander Knauber Ken was born in Topeka, Kansas to parents Oliver and Grace Knauber. He was a WWII vet; he served as a nose gunner in a B-24 Bomber. His plane was shot down over Austria where he was captured, held as a POW, and eventually freed. In 1953, Ken and his business partner, Ray Gavin, opened Ken and Ray's Cabinet Shop, which is still in business today and operated by Ken's twin sons, Joe and John. He was a fine cabinet maker and known for his quality work. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son, Dennis. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Aneta; daughters: Kathy (Rocky) Bayless, and Cheryl (Lars) Wingereid; sons: Dana, Steven, and John Knauber, Joel (Tiffany) Knauber, Terry (Debbie) Fenwick, and Gary (Nancy) Fenwick; Grandchildren: Monica Blas, Jennifer Wilson, Josef, Jaryd, and Emelia Knauber. Great-grandchildren: Alexander Santa Cruz, Trenton and Ruby Wilson, and Aden Blas. Dad loved to golf, fish and hunt in his younger days. In his later years he kept horses for his children and grandchildren to ride. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He believed in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. His family looks forward to reuniting with him in Heaven. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00pm sharp, at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. A small gathering of fellowship will immediately proceed at Columbus Estates, 3201 Columbus St, Bakersfield, in the 2nd floor activity room.
