© The Bakersfield Californian 23 April 2009 Albert Richardson Basham Funeral Care Visitation for Albert Richardson will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Blue Mountain Cemetery in Woody, CA on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Albert was born May 23, 1927 in Dawson, New Mexico and he passed away April 20, 2009 in Bakersfield, California. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie, whom he was married to for 54 years; his son, Ray Richardson and wife Teri; daughter, Sherri Culbertson and husband John; grandchildren, R.J. and wife Loni Richardson, P.D. and wife Jana Richardson, Ashley Culbertson and Cabe Culbertson; sibings, Faye Kielgas, Nell George, Betty Sandavol, Doris Niner, Jonnie Shawn, Bill Richardson and Faye Avila as well as numerous friends - too many to mention. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lois Richardson. Albert enlisted in the United States Army on August 7, 1945 and he served in Japan as a Sgt. Communications Chief. He was honorably discharged on April 15, 1947. He received the World War II Victory medal, Army of Occupation Medal as well as numerous shooting medals. Albert married the love of his life, Jeannie on May 18, 1954. They moved to California in 1957 and to the Woody community in 1960. He served on the Blake School Board as a member for 29 years. He was a member of the Greenhorn Mountain Veterans Association and he served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Blue Mountain Cemetery. Albert lived his dream of being a cowboy and was still helping neighbors in the community. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
