Evelyn [Sandrini] Woody
1916 ~ 2009

Services are today Tuesday, December 22, 12:30 p.m., at St. Mary's Church in Delano, CA, followed by Graveside services at the Blue Mountain Cemetery in Woody, CA.

Evelyn was born to Ugo and Maria Sandrini on September 15, 1916 in Delano, CA, and was one of 6 children who grew up on the family dairy and farm. She attended Pond Grammar School, Delano High School, and Lufkins Business College in Bakersfield.

On September 14, 1946, she married Robert Woody, and moved to the family ranch in Woody. Evelyn and Robert had one daughter, Gloria Graham.

Evelyn went to work for Production Credit in 1955 to help out for a few months, which turned out to be a 25 year job. She also served as the Secretary for the Kern County Cattlemens Association, and served two terms as President of the Kern County Cattlewomen Assn.

She loved her family, her garden, and the ranch way of life. Evelyn had a love for the cattle business and all the people involved in it. One of her greatest pleasures was having guests at her home, feeding them, and having a good visit. Her traditional Christmas Party was something all looked forward to, and something she took great joy in.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Ugo and Maria Sandrini; her sisters, Mary Piland and Sara Farwell; and her brothers, Lido and Lester.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Graham, her son-in-law Rusty, whom she considered her son; her granddaughter, Kim Amirfar, her husband, Fred; her grandson, Josh Graham, his wife, Holly; and four great-grandchildren, Savannah Hewes, Mackenzie and Braeden Amirfar, and Jackson Graham; her sister, Hazel Conley and husband Glen Conley; brother-in-law, Bob Farwell; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

Her elegance, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life will be missed by all who knew her. As her family, we will continue to "count our blessings" and remember every day she shared with us.
