© The Bakersfield Californian Tuesday, 30 October 2007 Lois Geneva [Gribble] Cook Chapel services were held on Monday, October 29, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane. Lois was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on July 25, 1920. Her family moved to the Bakersfield area in 1927. She worked for Pacific Bell for 40 years. She was married to Robert Cox, from 1940 until his death. They had one son, her beloved Toby. She married Bill Cook in 1985 and became the stepmother to Bonnie, Bill, Pete, and Steve. Lois and Bill enjoyed retirement together; traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Lois will always be remembered for her honesty, sense of humor, and devotion to her family. She was generous and loving and never forgot anyone's birthday! She loved her plants and her beautiful roses. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Cox; and second husband, Bill Cook; parents, Minnie Lou, and Charles M. Gribble; brother, Jess; and sisters, Lucille, Marv, Francis and Myrl. She is survived by her beloved sister, Ann Herring; brother, Hollis Gribble; son, Toby Cox; grandsons, Kevin and Casey Cox; and great-grandson, Dorian Cox. She is also survived by daughter and son~in~law, Bonnie and Jack Kimble; son and daughter~in~law, Bill and Terry Cook; son and daughter~in~law, Pete and Lisa Cook; and son and daughter~in~law, Steve and Kathy Cook. Lois is survived by grandchildren, Jenny Howard, Jackie Bradford, Shannon, Tanner, Noah, Andrew, Mary, and Jean Cook. She will also be missed by her great- grandchildren, Gabi and Preston Howard, Austin Fitch, and Landon Bradford.
