Visitation for Ramona Acuna Hernandez will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a Wake service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Wednesday morning, February 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hernandez Jr., Andy Hernandez, Cisco Perez, Steve Hernandez, Daniel Escobedo, Mario Hernandez, Joseph Perez, Sammy Perez, Jacob Behill Jr. and Paul Behill. Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Hernandez, Ray Mata Jr., P.J. Behill, Sophia Hernandez, Anthony Perez, Steve Hernandez Jr., Andrew Perez and Gloria Douglas, Jose Carrera.

Ramona was born August 31, 1927 in Marion, Texas and she passed away February 6, 2007 in Bakersfield, California.

She is preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Jacob Behill and Ray Mata and daughter-in-law, Juanita Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Gregorio Hernandez Sr.; son, Gregorio Hernandez Jr.; daughter, Minnie Hernandez; daughter and son-in-law, Estella and Cisco Perez; daughter, Ruthie Mata; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Donna Hernandez; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Antonia, Maria and Florinda; brother, Marcelino Acuna Jr. as well as numerous great grand children.

Mom was our inspiration for life, a gentle hand, a soft embrace, and a hard working woman who showed us the values of being independent providing for our family and at times letting dad use his firm guidance.

Lessons you've shared and the loving things you've done, our memories of what you've meant to us and dad. We'll miss you and love you forever until we meet.
