In 1955 his family moved to the central valley eventually making their home in Shafter. In 1963 he married the former Donna Hall and their son, Mike, was born in 1966. Wayne was always a hard worker and spent most of his career owning and managing restaurants in Bakersfield and Lancaster. In 1983 he married Amy Mackay and became a loving dad to her four daughters. In the last few years, his granddaughter, Mia was the light of his life. Wayne loved God and his friends and family take comfort in knowing that he is in a place where there is no more pain (and no more thirst). He is survived by his son, Mike; father, John; sister, Jean; nephew, Robert Savage; loving companion, Amy Mackay; loving daughters, Gillian Nam, Vallee' Ward, Katy Quilling and Robby Herman and beloved granddaughter, Mia McElmurry. The family would like to say a special thank you to his good friends at First Church of the Nazarene who comforted him in his final days.
