© The Bakersfield Californian Sunday, 2 December 2007 Michael Jess Tiger Michael Jess Tiger was born November 11, 1967 in Wasco, California to Jack Tiger and Charlotte Osborn Tiger McPhetridge. He grew up in Wasco and graduated from Wasco High School with the Class of 1985 and attended Bakersfield College. He worked for Save Mart in Wasco for 5 years and then began his 12~year career as a correctional officer with the Wasco State Prison. For the last 4 years he had been employed as a customer service representative with Centex Homes. Michael loved boating, motorcycling and going to Pismo Beach; but his passions were playing pool, Raiders football and hanging out with family. Michael was a member of the New Life Center and lived his life as a humble servant, always helping others. Michael would hear of someone who needed help and he quietly worked to fulfill those needs. He was known as "the responsible one" in the family. Michael lived his life to the fullest and loved his family above all and wanted to be remembered most for being a good dad. He leaves his wife, Anna (married, July 17, 2005) of Bakersfield; sons, Justin Tiger and Justin Worthey; daughters, Ariana Tiger, Jessie Tiger and Amber Worthey, all of Bakersfield; parents, Joe and Charlotte McPhetridge of Bakersfield; grandmother, Betty McPhetridge of Wasco; brothers, Chris McPhetridge and wife, Christina and their children, Samantha, Nathan and Regina of Shafter and Shawn Tiger and his children, Joshua and Caitlyn of Bakersfield; parents~in~law, Frank and Mary Kay Fuhlrodt; and many other family members. His father, Jack Tiger who passed away in 1999, preceded Michael in death. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 5th, 11:00 a.m., at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Michael Jess Tiger, age 40, of Bakersfield who passed away November 28, 2007 in Los Angeles. Pastors John Ross of the Wasco Westside Family Fellowship and Victor Vasquez of the New Life Center will officiate the service and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4th, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Peters Funeral Home. Donations may be made in Michael's name to the New Life Center, 4201 Stine Rd., Bakersfield, CA 93313.
