Our deeply loved mother, Velma Dora Wilson, 89, was born in Healdton, Oklahoma on April 5, 1918 and went home to be with our Lord December 8, 2007. Our Mother resided at Rosewood Assisted Living since 2005. The last few weeks were spent at Rosewood Skilled Nursing. Our Mother was preceded in death by our Dad, Ralph Thomas Wilson Sr.; her parents, James Leonard Grumbles and Mary Virgil Grumbles; two brothers, Manuel Grumbles of Bakersfield, CA and James Grumbles of Allen, TX; three sisters, Ellen Akers of Harlingen, TX, Gladys Doughty of Ardmore, OK, and Bernice Dauphin of Bakersfield, CA. She has two surviving sisters, Esther Stallings of Bakersfield, CA, and Frances Lynd of Waynetown, IN. Velma has left behind three children, a daughter, Carolyn and husband, Bob Fisher of Bakersfield, CA, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She leaves a son, Ralph Thomas Wilson Jr. and wife, Saundra of Bakersfield, CA, two grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her second son, Craig Allan Wilson and wife, Lorraine of Cornwall, NY and their daughter as well. Velma leaves numerous loving nieces and nephews, their wives, husband, and families and a host of dear friends. Our family wishes to thank, with deep appreciation, the care given by the many nurses and attendants. The care, compassion, concern, and guidance provided with the assistance of Managed Care Systems, LP and our family together helped develop the special needs Mother required. A special thank you to Misty, Kelli, Aubrey, Shelli, Diane and the staff of Managed Care Systems. Our family cannot express enough our deepest appreciation and gratitude for Dr. Oliver, Falicia, Laura, Desire, and Debbie, at Hoffmann Hospice, who have been attending our Mother for the last several weeks. In lieu of flowers, should you choose to make a donation, in the memory of our Mother, it may be sent to Hoffman Hospice, 8501 Brimhall Rd., Bldg. 100, Bakersfield, CA 93312. www.dignitymemorial.com Velma Dora Wilson, Apr. 5, 1918 ~ Dec. 8, 2007
