Virginia Barbara Jean [Chenard] Brown
1926 - 2004

Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Tehachapi, with Mass of the Christian Burial following on Thursday, March 11 at 10:00 a.m., for Virginia Barbara Brown, 77, who passed away in Fresno on March 7, 2004.

Barbara was born on September 5, 1926, in Los Angeles to parents, Fernand and Viola Chenard.

She was married to Clarence J. Brown on September 7, 1946, in Los Angeles and became a happy homemaker for the next 57 years.

She and her husband moved to Tehachapi in 1964 where she loved to garden, growing beautiful flowers, her favorite being roses.

Barbara was very active in her church, attending St. Francis Parish in Mojave for many years, then St. Malachy Catholic Church in Tehachapi the last five years. She frequently lead and also recited the Rosary as often as possible.

She enjoyed making baby blankets, burp pads and booties which have ended up in homes all over the world.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was devoted to her husband and his care, loved her children, but thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her husband of 57~1/2 years, Clarence J. Brown; her children and their spouses: Mike and Mary Brown, Pat and Ray Dull, Wayne and Lynette Brown, Susan and Ralph Baker, Albert Brown, Mary Guzman, Jim and Sue Brown, Edward Brown, Beverly and Darren Caskey, Bobby and Evy Brown; her grandchildren and their spouses: Amelia, Patrick Brown, Connie and Ed Ward, Matt and Sara Dull, Cindy and Chris Thompson, Cho-Chi Brown, Jennifer, Loretta, Bart Brown, Katie and Tony Shrum, Margle and Chris Ames, Jackie Carretta, Theresa Brown, Patti and Jesus Lopez, Katrina and Jacob Torres, Lupe Guzman, Nolan Dexter-Brown, Danny, Kyle Brown, Ryan, Rita, Riley, Rheana Caskey and JohnPaul Brown; her great-grandchildren: Ashley Dull, Alex, Kayla Beck, Hannah Jean Shrum, Calista, Sam Ames, Aereola Brown, Fernando Nunez Jr., Angel, James, Monica Lopez.

Virginia is predeceased by her daughter, Jean Carter and her granddaughter, Tina Beck.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 3:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. at Wood Chapel. Father Roger Le Duc and Father Craig Harrison will officiate. Interment will follow at Tehachapi Public Cemetery Westside.
