Diana "Genine" Georgia [Cedillo] Bowles
1949 - 2007

Diana "Genine" Georgia Bowles was born September 14, 1949, in El Paso, Texas to Gabriel and Tomasa Cedillo. She was peacefully returned to God November 21, 2007.

Those who knew Diana, know that she was loving, compassionate, kind, easy going, stubborn, resilient and strong. Very strong. Though she lived a life of adversity, her strength would not let such adversity define her. Unless you knew Diana, you do not know the meaning of resiliency. Through many trying times, Diana gave of her heart and did so without second thought, without expectations and without resentment ~ but only with Christian love.

Diana was actively involved in the Nazarene church all of her life.

She worked for, cared for and gave to shut~in senior citizens and the less fortunate, even as misfortune befell her, through the Golden Empire Gleaners in Bakersfield and Senior Sack program in Wasco.

She expressed her love and compassion to family and friends through the language of food, doling out thousands of "I love you's" in the form of homemade chocolates, candies, popsicles, breads, tamales, cakes and cookies.

Some people can claim a legacy of love because they said the right things; Diana can claim a legacy of love because she did the right things.

You would be hard pressed to find a more benign soul than that of Diana Bowles. All the more appropriate then that she was surrounded by the communion of saints and ushered to Heaven by the equally benign souls of her mother, Tomasa Cedillo; husband, Cecil Bowles; and son, Paul Bowles who have preceded her in death.

Diana leaves behind her father, Gabriel Cedillo II; her daughter, Tammy Perryman; her son, Warren (C.W.) Bowles; siblings, Gabriel Cedillo III, David Cedillo, Thelma Cedillo, J.D. Steele, Joe Cedillo, Steve Cedillo, Rick Cedillo, and Naomi Cedillo; grandchildren, Edward Palomo, Nicholas Palomo, Alyssa Palomo, and Nikita Chalmers Jr.; and great granddaughter Kailey Palomo.

The viewing will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd., in Bakersfield, on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, from 1 ~ 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary, at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 28, 2007.

Diana will be laid to rest at Wasco Memorial Park following the service.
