John Samuel Camp
1951 - 2007

John Samuel Camp passed away on December 28, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. He was 56.

He is survived by his son, John F. Camp and wife, Stephanie of Visalia; daughter, Jennifer Lynes of Grand Junction, Colorado; four grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Teaguen, and Race; his mother, Betty Camp of Wasco; sister, Patti Patrick and husband Randy of Fresno, along with two nieces and a nephew.

John was born in Wasco, California on June 11, 1951.

He attended Wasco schools and Porterville and Bakersfield Colleges before heading into his life's vocation, agriculture. Along the way, a specialization in irrigation systems opened opportunities for John to participate in the development of agricultural land in Jordan, Jamaica, Guatemala, Mongolia and China. He most recently served as the Chief Director of China for the international division of Valmont Industries, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

John was known for his ability to make others laugh with his quick wit. Family and friends will greatly miss that trademark humor and his enthusiasm for racing through life.

A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held Friday, January 4, at 1 p.m. at Wasco Memorial Park for John Samuel Camp. Rev. Alf Christensen will officiate the service and interment will follow.
