Robert Carder Coe
1922- 2007

Robert Carder "Bob" Coe was born March 21, 1922 to Charles and Marian [Holmes] Coe in Sanger, California.

He moved to Wasco at an early age and attended Wasco Union High School, graduating in 1941.

Bob served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a multi-engine instructor, a B17 pilot and a B29 pilot from 1944 to 1945 and part of 1946.

He was a local crop duster pilot for 37 years, and was the pilot flying the crop duster in the movie "North by Northwest". Bob loved new experiences.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Wasco Elks Lodge, and the Loyal Order of Coyotes.

Bob is survived by his son, Bob Coe of Bakersfield; step~son, Rick Westbrook and wife, Karen of Bakersfield; step~daughter, Chris Hansan and husband, Jr. of Elko, Nevada; and brother, Sterling Coe and wife, Janice of Tennessee.

He survived two wives, Marjorie Wasson Coe and Edith Barrett Coe, both deceased.

A funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held on Friday, October 12th, at 10:00 a.m., at Peters Funeral Home Chapel for Robert C. Coe who passed away on October 8, 2007 in Wasco. Alf Christensen will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
