Eleanor Francis "Nena" [Ybarra] Hernandez
1949- 2003

Eleanor was born 54 years ago in the City of Orange, California to Fidel and Connie Ybarra.

She became a mother in June 1968, then again in November 1980.

She is survived by her parents, by her sisters Doris Galvan, Cecilia Velasquez and brothers Danny and Ralph Ybarra, all from Hood River, Oregon. She is also survived by a grandmother, Isabel Lopez of Yokima, Washington, who is 101 years old; two sons, Jose Luis Orozco and Toribio T. Hernandez, as well as many family members and friends.

Eleanor received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 44. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Wasco Free Will Baptist Church.

She always gave her love, time and friendship unconditionally, never expecting anything in return. She volunteered many hours at Bethany Christian School, which was very dear to her heart. The children and staff were blessed by her faithfulness to the school. Sister Eleanor was a great mother and grandmother. She treated all her friends so special that everyone felt that she was their best friend. Her smile brightened any room. She will be greatly missed. Though we will miss her, it gives us great comfort to know that she is with her Savior, Redeemer, King and Heavenly Father.

Her family and friends will celebrate her life at the Free Will Baptist Church at 938 7th Street in Wasco on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Wasco Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose Luis, Ted, TJ, Paul Hernandez, Mike Johnson, Edgar Chavez, Carlos Calderon, Danny Ybarra & Ralph Ybarra.

In lieu of flowers the Hernandez Family has asked that donations be made to a trust fund for Eleanors youngest son, 13 year old Jose Luis Orozco. Jose would like to continue his education at Bethany Christian School. Donations may be made at Union Bank of California.
