Imogene [Shelton] Knowlton
1936 - 2007

Imogene Knowlton, "Imo", went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2008 while surrounded by her family.

Born in Piggott, Arkansas on December 17, 1936, she moved to Wasco, CA, graduated from Wasco High School and the next day married her sweetheart Wiley.

She went on to graduate on the Dean's List from Bakersfield College with a degree in Accounting. She was a Notary Public and was last employed by San Joaquin Interiors as a Bookkeeper.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Etta and William Bailey Shelton and her sister Faye Tackitt.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Wiley, her daughters Amber Anderson and husband Robert, Tammy Burns and husband David and her son Evan Knowlton and wife Lynda, five grandchildren ~ Cody and Jeannie Anderson, Josie Burns and Emma and Grace Knowlton, sisters Dorothy Holt and husband Raymond and Virginia Tackitt.

Imogene enjoyed reading and quilting and was active with the Prayer Quilt Ministry at Valley Baptist Church.

She had a special place in her heart for all of her nieces and nephews but found her greatest joy in her grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 11, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Wasco Cemetery and a Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Valley Baptist Church from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, she wished that donations be made to Hoffman Hospice or the Prayer Quilt Ministry at Valley Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Hoffman Hospice and Reece Homecare Services for their prompt and compassionate care, all is truly appreciated. "So much to do and so little time to do it in"
