Silvano "Chano" Valdez
1948 - 2006

Silvano was born in Brownsville, TX but lived a majority of his life in the Lamont and Bakersfield areas.

He joined the United States Army in 1969 and served his country proudly in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1971 and was awarded five medals including the Army Commendation Medal.

He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Valdez Banda.

He is survived by his son, Raymond; mother, Carlota; sisters, Margaret, Toni, and Janie; brothers, Cruz, and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

He will be laid to rest with honor at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Los Banos, CA, on January 10, 2007.
