Nona Mae Ytreeide
1929 - 2007

Nona Mae Ytreeide, 77, went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 21, 2007, in Napa, CA, after battling COPD.

She will always be remembered as the Godly, gentle, kind, strong, patient, and loving woman that we all knew and loved so much.

Nona was born November 5, 1929 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and moved to California in 1938.

She moved to Delano, California, in 1945, where she graduated high school in 1948. While attending Delano High School, she was chosen as the Queen of the Wine and Harvest Festival and placed third when she ran for Miss Kern County.

In 1950, she moved to Fresno, California, where she met the love of her life, Dean Carlton Ytreeide. They were married June 9, 1951 and were blessed with four children. They lived in Bakersfield and Bishop, and finally settled in Napa, California.

Nona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Ytreeide.

She is survived by her son, David Ytreeide and wife, Sherie of Windsor, CA; 3 daughters and their husbands, Chyrese and Jon Valpredo of Napa, CA., Cindy and Mark Reece of Bakersfield, CA., and Janet and John Mort of Napa, CA. Nona officially known as Mema, is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Brian, April, Spencer, Darbi, Derek, Deidre, and Garrett and 5 great-grandchildren.

Nona's family would like to thank Dr. Kako and his staff, as well as the staff at Piner's Nursing Home, for the excellent care they provided her and for always going out of their way for her family.

A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., at The Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, CA.
