Marie Adoree [Roux] Hicks
1927 - 2007

Marie Adoree Roux was born in Bakersfield, CA, to Louis and Rose Roux on October 8, 1927.

As a very popular Senior at East Bakersfield High School, she was elected Snow Queen in 1945.

Marie was introduced to Clifford M. Hicks on February 5, 1946, by a dear friend, Vernon Mears. Clifford was instantly stunned and invited her to see Gary Cooper in Saratoga Trunk at the California Theater. They were together from then on - for the next 61 years. The couple would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on September 18. Instead, Marie took a trip to Heaven on August 8, 2007.

Marie was a great mother, wife and home manager who was adored and revered by everyone in the family. She and Cliff had three sons, Scott, Mitchell and Christopher, who have gathered around to help and support Cliff in this time of turmoil.

Marie leaves her sons, daughters- in-law, Julie and Joy; and three grandchildren, Louis in Cambria, and Natalie Rose and Katharine Marie in Fresno. She also leaves her two lovely sisters, Patricia Whiting of Morro Bay and Sherrie Strange of Las Vegas; along with brother-in-law, Charles Strange.

Marie will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 25, at 12:00 p.m., at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park, 2260 Los Osos Valley Road, Los Osos, California.
