John Justin "Sam" Fowler
1981 - 2008

John Justin "Sam" Fowler, 26, son of John D. and Rose A. Fowler of San Luis Obispo, went to meet our Lord on Friday, February 8, 2008.

Johnny was born in June 1981. He attended Old Mission School, San Luis Obispo, Mission College Preparatory, San Luis Obispo High School, and graduated in June 1999. He continued his studies at Cuesta Junior College, Mesa Junior College in San Diego, San Diego City College, Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where he studied Mechanical Engineering.

Johnny loved the outdoors and riding in his jeep with the top off. He was an avid kayaker, photographer, poker player, and good friend. He loved to escort people to Big Falls and through Dinosaur Caves in Shell Beach.

He spent hours arranging tunes on his ipod. He was most passionate about inventing things.

Johnny will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, his ability to tell entertaining stories, his unique way of looking at and experiencing life, his funny one liners and great antidotes, his passion for living life to the fullest, his great heart, and desire to help other people. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his parents, John and Rose; siblings, Jennifer Nguyen (Linh), Laura Connor (Gabe), Tom, and Sarah; grandparents, Opal Fowler, Alex and Arlene Lopez, and a very large extended family.

A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, at Nativity of Our Lady Church in SLO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 16, at the Old Mission Church, SLO. There will be a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johnny's name to Founders Bank in San Luis Obispo.
