Ralph Wayne Jurgens
1946 - 2007

Ralph Wayne Jurgens was born March 25, 1946, to Robert and Maxine Jurgens in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away August 6, 2007, after a long, valiant battle with lung cancer.

Ralph graduated from Texas A & M with a B.S. Degree in Soil Science, Agronomy.

He served two tours of duty in Viet Nam with the U.S. Navy from which he was honorably discharged.

He became Co-Owner of New Era Farm Service and spent his life working with the agricultural community, which was his passion second only to his family and friends.

Ralph is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy Jurgens; his son, Ryan Jurgens; his stepchildren, Eric Tavonatti and wife, Shauna, Adam Tavonatti, Alyssa Childers; and his grandchildren, Cade and Cole Tavonatti, all of Tulare; his father, Robert Jurgens of Colorado; his sister, Sylvia Bartlett of Colorado; and many relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, 12 Noon - 8 p.m., at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 13th, at the First Church of God, 833 N. Blackstone, in Tulare, CA.

Interment will follow at the North Tulare Cemetery, Tulare, CA.

Remembrances may be made in Ralph's name to: Heartland Festival, c/o Ecological Farming Assoc., 406 Main St., Suite 313, Watsonville, CA 95076.
