Katherine Lenora Smith

Our much loved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt passed away on October 13, 2007, after a short illness at the grand age of 96 years old.

Katherine Lenora Smith was born in the small town of Ravie, Oklahoma on March 11, 1911.

In 1932 she became a registered nurse and practiced for 42 years. She last worked as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Kaweah Delta District Hospital in Visalia, CA where she was highly regarded in her profession. After retiring in 1974, she traveled and eventually moved to Bakersfield, CA in October 1991 to be closer to her family. Most recently she was in assisted living at The Hallmark and the Arbolado House.

Left to keep her in our memories are her daughter, Darlene and husband, Gary Glasgow of Bakersfield. Three grandchildren and their spouses, Kurt and Lu Glasgow of Bakersfield, Kelly and Tim Price of Lemoore, and Nicole and Russ Vierra of San Jose. She leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Brianna and Nicolas Vierra, Katherine "Katie" Price, and Matthew and Natalie Glasgow. Lenora was the 2nd eldest of 10 children and leaves behind sisters, Irene Vaughn and Flora Jobe of Ozark, Arkansas and Roberta Justice of Boulder City, Nevada.
