Maitland Cemetery

Directions to Maitland Cemetery, Maitland, Florida:

From the North: Travel west on I-4 to exit 90 (Maitland Blvd./SR-414) Turn west and drive 1/2 mile to North Lake Destiny Road. Turn left. Drive one block then turn left at the traffic light to stay on N. Lake Destiny Rd. Cemetery is on the right, just south of the soccer field.

From the South: Travel east on I-4 to exit 90 (Maitland Blvd./SR-414). Turn west and drive 1/2 mile to North Lake Destiny Road. Turn left. Drive 1 block then turn left at the traffic light to stay on N. Lake Destiny Rd. Cemetery is 1/16 mile on right, just south of soccer field.

The cemetery, on the north bank of Lake Lucien, is maintained by the city of Maitland. The lawns are manicured and the trees are trimmed. Short hedges line the brick sidewalks. With the exception of the lake bank, a fence surrounds the area. In the center where the sidewalks meet is a bronze sign with a description of how Maitland Cemetery was founded and the people who made this possible. Exceptional care of the cemetery is evident.

I canvassed the cemetery by starting in the southeast corner, walking north to south, finishing in the northeast corner. I divided the cemetery into four sections, southeast, southwest, northeast and northwest.
